How to make RESISTANCE your friend.
FEB 24, 2015 | PERSONAL GROWTHResistance
It’s portrayed to be this nasty thing that humanly, we try to avoid.
But on the other side of resistance is breakthrough. Do you want a break through?
Then read on…
First, types of things we resist:
That business we always wanted to start.
That exercise or health regimen we know we should follow.
A schedule to create balance and organization.
Healthy relationships, love and acceptance.
Pretty much anything that would keep us accountable to a goal that requires change, we resist.
But why? Isn’t change good?
Yes, it is. But it’s not always easy.
We find ourselves referring to our past circumstances as a point of reference.
We tell ourselves it’s HARD.
We remind ourselves of past failures.
We tell ourselves it cannot be done, we aren’t qualified, we aren’t enough, we don’t have the time…etc.
The list of excuses we make – STOP us.
So what is the key to moving past resistance and into FLOW so we can ultimately achieve our hopes, dreams and aspirations?
The magic happens when we HUMBLE ourselves to resistance. Seeing it as a gift to MIRROR where we are, and show us where we could and should be.
Here are 3 tips to make resistance your friend:
1. When you feel resistance, don’t judge yourself.
Allow yourself to feel it, be aware of it and even journal about it. You may need to even voice the pain of your resistance through frustration with a trusted confidant.
This is where we often judge ourselves and wonder why we don’t have it together at the moment. But the key is to let it flow so it can be released.
You can’t stay here though, otherwise it becomes a pity-party, and some people stay here forever and wind up living their life in resentment, bitterness or worse, depression.
2. Cry it out.
Whaaaa…If you aren’t a cryer, that’s ok. You can find other ways to release emotion, got a punching bag?
I find that crying can release old beliefs and mental strongholds, and bring you to a place of humility. This is where you can allow yourself to get clear on your new reality and let go of what’s been holding you back and…let it go, let it go (insert dancing ice princess here).
3. Create a fresh new plan.
There’s nothing like a fresh perspective to move you into massive action.
You know that feeling you have when you return home from a relaxing vacation? You almost see life in a whole new light. You see fresh possibilities, new ideas and start to approach life a little different because you allowed your mind, and soul to rest.
I personally recommend creating a mind map or writing out specific goals on a white board or large piece of paper you can plaster on your wall. That way, you see it every day and are reminded of where you are going!
I hope this post helps you to stop “resisting” resistance and start moving into your greatness. Because your greatness may just be on the other side of what you are fighting against.
All the Best,
~Molly
Thank you Molly for this. Its exactly what I’m going through. I right now feel worthless no will to push on. I put my self down. I think how can I be positive if everything around me is negative. I want to change so bad and be positive and change careers, make more money grow and take care of my family. I want to be happy. Thank you Molly. I don’t want to give up.:-) Joseph

Wow this is great Molly. I really love that quote. I’m realizing more and more the mind place a role in everything. But I also realize that in order for you to have any kind of breakthrough you have to recognize what and how your thoughts are keeping you from moving forward. I think this is a daily progress and you never will arrive but you’ll get smarter and your recovery time will be less. Thanks for sharing this was very helpful.
Shiffon,
You got it! It’s crazy how powerful our belief systems can be and you are right, it’s a daily practice.
